01  Wisdom teeth

Wisdom teeth, handled in one visit

Most people need their wisdom teeth out in their late teens or early twenties. In the majority of cases all four come out in one visit, under the level of sedation you choose, and every patient goes home the same day.

Wisdom teeth, the third molars at the very back of your mouth, arrive into a jaw that is already full. When one is impacted or crowded, it can push against neighboring teeth, trap food and bacteria under the gum where no toothbrush reaches, and set off pain, swelling, or repeat infections.

Removing problem wisdom teeth early, before the roots fully form and the jawbone hardens, generally means a simpler surgery and an easier recovery. That is why dentists and orthodontists often recommend an evaluation in the late-teen years, even before symptoms start.

The surgery itself typically takes under an hour, and any stitches used are usually dissolvable. If you are sedated, a driver takes you home while the numbness wears off, and most patients are resting on the couch by lunchtime.

  • All four removed in a single visit in most cases
  • Local anesthetic, oral sedation, or IV sedation, your choice
  • Planned on 3D imaging before surgery day
  • Unhurried consultations, with parents part of the conversation

The planning matters as much as the placement, so a surgeon does both.

02  Dental implants

A tooth that is yours again

A dental implant replaces the whole tooth, root and all. It looks natural, feels solid, and with good care it can last for decades.

An implant is a small titanium post that takes the place of a missing tooth root. Once it fuses with your jawbone, it becomes a rock-solid anchor for a crown that looks and works like a natural tooth. Unlike a bridge, it does not lean on the neighboring teeth. Unlike a removable denture, it never slips.

Implants also protect the jaw itself. When a tooth is lost, the bone that held it begins to shrink away. An implant keeps that bone stimulated and preserves the shape of your smile over time.

Placement is surgery, and the planning matters as much as the placement. Every case is planned on 3D imaging so the implant goes exactly where the bone and the bite need it, and if your jaw needs preparation first, bone grafting and sinus lift procedures are done here, in the same office, by the same surgeon.

  • Placed by an oral and maxillofacial surgeon
  • Planned on 3D imaging, to the millimeter
  • Grafting and sinus lifts done in the same office
  • We coordinate the final crown with your own dentist

The people who sat in the chair.

I have been to dentists where you’re almost afraid to go in, because you know what’s coming. When I came in, I saw Dr. Doroshenko and I was put to sleep. When I woke up, everything was all done and I could go home.

Karen · From our patient video

It was really important to me that we found a provider that was compassionate and just gentle, and that didn’t push us in and out the door. They were all so kind and compassionate, answered all of our questions, and I really felt like my daughter was just in the absolute best hands.

Parent of a teen patient · From our patient video

The atmosphere at Orange Blossom Oral Surgery is very calming. I look for the doctor who is going to be concentrated on you and your care, isn’t in it for any other reason but to make you feel better, and to get you out of discomfort or pain.

Darla · From our patient video

Dr. Doroshenko is a very nice person. She was very patient, and I had a great experience.
